Jacksonville Fashion Week Hosts Model Casting Call

Jacksonville Fashion Week (JFW), a multi-event celebration of fashion on Florida’s First Coast, is hosting a two-day model casting call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at Walkers (2692 Post St.) and Thursday, Nov. 18 at The Brasserie (Beach Plaza, 1312 Beach Blvd.). JFW officials will select a total of 100-125 models to grace the catwalk at the inaugural Jacksonville Fashion Week, March 23-26, 2011.

The JFW casting sessions are open to the public, and interested applicants are encouraged to visit www.jaxfashionweek.com for a full listing of casting details. There are no formal age or experience restrictions, though prior modeling experience is preferred. Applicants under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian permission to apply. Women must be at least 5’6” and men must be at least 5’10” to be eligible for casting consideration. All models selected to participate in JFW will be notified by Nov. 29.

In its inaugural year, Jacksonville Fashion Week is a four-day affair that will highlight established and emerging designers through a series of fashion-centric events. A percentage of JFW event proceeds will benefit non-profit organizations Angelwood, which serves children and adults with developmental disabilities; the JPL Foundation, Inc., which develops financial resources for the Jacksonville Public Library; and Soles4Souls, which donates shoes to adults and children in need. All events will take place in venues throughout Downtown Jacksonville.
