World Golf Hall of Fame IMAXR Theater Presents 3D Lineup

With the largest IMAX 3D digital screen in the Southeastern United States, the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater will reopen to the public on Saturday, Jan. 29 after closing to upgrade to IMAX 3D digital technology. Tickets for the first movies to show in 3D digital format go on sale on Friday, Jan. 21. Located at World Golf Village, the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater will be one of five institutional theaters in the world to offer this level of IMAX 3D digital technology.

The new film lineup, scheduled to open during the last weekend in January includes:

The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D
This film plunges viewers into the stunning beauty of an island paradise on a quest to find the perfect wave-riding experience as ten-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater and his surfing buddies search for waves in Tahiti.

Under the Sea 3D
Narrated by Jim Carrey, this film takes viewers on an adventure to some of the most exotic and isolated undersea locations on earth, with face-to-face encounters with some of the most mysterious and stunning creatures of the sea.

Hubble 3D
Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, this film shows the gripping story – full of hope, disappointment, ingenuity, bravery and triumph – as it relives the amazing journey of the most important scientific instrument since Galileo's original telescope, the Hubble Space Telescope.

Space Station 3D
Narrated by Tom Cruise, viewers blast off into space with the astronauts and cosmonauts from Florida's Kennedy Space Center and Russia's Baikonur Cosmodrome to rendezvous with their new home in orbit 220 miles above Earth.

Beginning Friday, Feb. 4, the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater will be featuring "Sanctum," its

first Hollywood movie in 3D digital:

The 3-D action-thriller Sanctum, from Executive Producer James Cameron, follows a team of underwater cave divers on a treacherous expedition to the largest, most beautiful and least accessible cave system on earth. When a tropical storm forces them deep into the caverns, they must fight raging water, deadly terrain and creeping panic as they search for an unknown escape route to the sea.

Upgrades to the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater include a new dual digital projection system, a new screen, enhanced digital sound system, and 3D glasses-cleaning machine. As a result of these upgrades, the theater will now offer more first-run Hollywood movies in 3D and 2D.

Since opening in 1998, the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater has offered the largest IMAX screen in northeast Florida, regularly featuring educational and occasional first-run movies in its 300-seat auditorium.  For more information or to order tickets, call (904) 940-4133 or visit
