$10,000 Donation to St. Johns Fire Rescue

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is awarding much needed equipment to the St. Johns Fire Rescue. The Fire Department benefits with 17 Wyse Thin Clients & LCD displays worth $10,614. These state-of-the-art desktops will allow for cutting edge training to take place in every St. Johns Fire Rescue fire station, replacing out dated technology and allowing for economical and consistent training throughout the county. More important, the time saved will increase the efficiency of existing manpower. Since 2005, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated more than $1 million to public safety entities in the state of Florida.

Firehouse Subs is renowned for hearty, oversized portions and piping hot subs. The founders' 200-year firefighting heritage inspired the formation of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which provides funding and support to public safety entities.

"As government budgets decrease our requests for funding increase," said Robin Peters, Executive Director of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. "We are grateful to our restaurant crews and guests for their generosity which makes these equipment donations possible."

Each restaurant recycles leftover, five-gallon pickle buckets and sells them to customers for $2. Donation canisters on register counters explain the non-profit's mission and collect spare change.
