Annual School Supply Drive About to Kickoff

Stuff the Bus, the annual First Coast News drive to collect school supplies for those in need is almost here.  In partnership with The Salvation Army, Publix, Community First Credit Union and The United Way, we encourage those who can help to do so by dropping off school suply donations.

The large donation barrels will appear at area Publix stores and Community First branch locations starting July 18th.

But what if you need help with getting some school supplies for YOUR kids?  How do you apply?  Here's the information you need:

You must apply through The Salvation Army.  To be eligible you must meet income requirements (income requirements are measured at 150% of the federal poverty level) and be caring for children who are school age.

Application Dates: July 5th - July 29th (Monday - Friday)

Times:  9:00am - 11;30am and 1:00 - 3:00pm

Location:  Towers Social Service Center,  900 West Adams Street   Jacksonville, FL  32204

In order to apply you must bring all of the following:

  • Picture ID for adult applying
  • Social Security Cards for all members of household
  • Birth Certificates for all children
  • Verification of ALL household income

-          Wages (last 3 Check Stubs)

-          Unemployment Check Stubs
