The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Youth Services Unit is sponsoring the haunted house again this Halloween season. The 11th annual “Horror Zone” will take place once again at the former Mikee’s store, 2497 U.S. 1 South, in the Food Lion Shopping Center, Lewis Point Rd., and U.S. 1 South. The Horror Zone will be open beginning this weekend (Friday & Saturday) from 6:00-11:00 p.m.

 Deputies and volunteers have taken nearly four weeks to set up one of the finest haunted houses in the area and this year could be the best ever. Among the special effects are a vortex tunnel, a moving cart, a rocking hallway, and even some brand new technological surprises! Fans have come as far away as Tampa and Tallahassee over the past few years and at peak times guests will gladly wait for hours to enter the haunted house which takes between 10-12 minutes of fright. The most “Spooktacular” Haunted House in St. Augustine will be at the old Mikees store, in the Food Lion shopping Center at 2497 U.S. 1 South. The hours of “The Horror Zone” will be from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on all eight nights, October 14 & 15th, October 21 & 22nd, and October 28th-31st. Admission is just $8.00 for ages 13 and over and $6 for those youngsters 12 and under. In addition family discounts are available.
