Tobacco Free Jacksonville Coalition and Tobacco Free Florida

Today marks the 36th Great American Smokeout, sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The Tobacco Free Jacksonville Coalition with the Duval County Health Department, the Florida Department of Health and Tobacco Free Florida are celebrating this event by encouraging Floridians to commit to being tobacco-free for 24 hours on Thursday.

Ahoy there and Ho Ho Ho!  The holiday spirit comes to the creek this time of year. If you peer out your car windows heading north across the Julington Creek Bridge the last couple of weeks in November you can see many “Captain” Santa’s.  They are decorating their vessels in hopes of a good clear night and low tides for sailing in the 2011 Christmas on the Creek light parade.

Boorito is Back: Chipotle Hosts Halloween Fundraiser & Launches Short Film to Benefit Farm Aid

 

Chipotle Mexican Grill  will raise up to $1 million to benefit family farmers through its annual “Boorito” Halloween fundraiser. Customers visiting any Chipotle restaurant in the US, Canada and the UK on Monday, October 31st from 6 p.m. to close dressed in a costume inspired by the family farm will be treated to a burrito, order of tacos, salad, or burrito bowl for only $2, and Chipotle will donate proceeds (up to $1 million) to Farm Aid and the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.
