Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! is bringing a colossal party on ice to your hometown!  This all-new show visits Jacksonville from April 7 – 10, 2011 for Eight performances at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Tickets go on sale February 25th at 10 a.m.

Community Collection Day at Pedro Menendez High School

St. Johns County Solid Waste Management will host a Community Collection Day on Saturday, February 26th, from 8:00 am until noon at Pedro Menendez High School, located at 600 State Road 206 West in St. Augustine. The event is limited to St. Johns County residents only.

Summer Camp Lottery Registration Begins February 28th

The St. Johns County Recreation & Parks Department operates Super Summer Spectacular summer camps for children in kindergarten through fifth grade at multiple locations throughout the County. The camps are geared towards outdoor play and are staffed by experienced and motivated leaders and counselors. Each site participates in three exciting field trips, arts and crafts activities and swimming once a week. Space is very limited and registration is lottery based.

The St. Augustine Community Ballet (SACB) presents a special Mother’s Day dance event as over thirty-five of the area’s most talented dancers present Peter and the Wolf and Paquita Suite at 2:00p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2011. The performance will take place in Kirk Memorial Auditorium located on the beautiful campus of The Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, 207 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine. Tickets for the performance are $20. A Mother’s Day special price of $15 is available to all mothers who attend with a regular priced ticket holder. Tickets for children 15 and under are $15. Get Up Close to Monster Trucks at Displays This Thursday & Friday 2/24-25

Before the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam® revs up the crowd at EverBank Field this Saturday, February 26, some of the show’s stars will be on display so fans can get an up-close look, for free.  At various locations throughout the First Coast, the public is invited to stop by and check out the trucks and talk to the drivers.  Below is a list of truck displays for this Thursday and Friday.

Camp Cadet Kicks Off Application Period

Northeast Florida Camp Cadet, Inc. is kicking off the application period for a week long summer camp that begins on June 19th and runs through June 25th, 2011 at Camp Blanding (southern Clay County off SR 16).

The camp is for all youth, not just for troubled youth. Applicants must be 12 - 15 years of age.  Applications will not be accepted after April 9th, 2011.  Applications are available at the local police /sheriffs offices in the following counties: Clay, Duval, Bradford, St. Johns and Nassau.  There is no cost/fee for the camp and a maximum of eighty (80) youth will be accepted.

St. Johns County Announces Energy Efficiency Education Series

St. Johns County is launching the Energy Efficiency Education Series, a group of five workshops to be offered throughout March on energy efficient building practices.

The education series is specifically designed to meet the needs of builders, developers and design professionals involved in commercial and residential construction. Although tailored for the commercial sector, the workshops also will be relevant and open to all members of St. Johns County. By attending all five workshops, individuals will be recognized as a St. Johns County Energy Efficiency Ambassador and provided a certificate of completion for prominent display at their place of business.
