American Heart Association-First Coast Market Names Local Executive to Lead Go Red For Women Mission


The American Heart Association-First Coast Market has named local business and community leader Joyce Kramzer as the chair for the 2011- 2012 Go Red For Women (GRFW) Mission.

Joyce Kramzer is Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida’s (BCBSF) Senior Vice President, Health Business Operations.  In this role, Kramzer has primary accountability for the business strategies and operations of delivery system, service, senior markets, and IT. In her dual role as the GRFW chair and AHA-First Coast Market Board of Directors Chair, Kramzer brings excellent businesses acumen and a sense of social responsibility.  

The following will strategically support Kramzer in furthering the GRFW mission of educating women of their unique and clearly defined risks of cardiovascular disease and stroke:

The coalition of women executives will work throughout the fall and winter to bring awareness to heart disease, the #1 killer of women through public icon days such as National Wear Red Day, Friday, Feb. 3, 2011 and private events such as a social scheduled for Feb. 9 to be held at McGuire Woods LLP.  The Go Red For Women Luncheon on Friday, May 18, 2012,  will cap the year’s educational messaging and fundraising campaign; the location to be released soon. Go Red For Women is a national movement by the American Heart Association to raise awareness for the affects of heart disease on women. Every year about 500,000 women die from cardiovascular disease, but less than 13 percent of American women view heart disease as a serious problem.  Funds raised from the Go Red for Women event will go towards research for women’s cardiovascular issues.


Go Red for Women is sponsored nationally by Macy’s and Merck.
