The SJCEF is teaming up with Thomas Long to create an opportunity for people to win an original Thomas Long glass wall sculpture, while benefitting the SJCEF’s Supply Depot!

The blown glass sculpture can be won through a prize drawing for $10 donations. Each ticket gets your name entered into the drawing to win the sculpture. Opportunities for purchasing tickets will begin on December 16th and 17th at the 10th Anniversary and Holiday Inventory Sale. The sale will take place at the Thomas Long Blown Glass/ Creative Studio, which is located at 25 Palmer Street.

All of Long’s work is made of hand blown glass. His work can be seen across the country and Long is known for his bold use of color and flora inspiration. Demonstrations will also be taking place during the weekend of their inventory sale. Their studio will be open for the sale on Friday, December 16th from 4-6 pm, and Saturday, December 17th from 2-6pm.

The Supply Depot that all donations are going to support is a building where teachers can come year-round to get supplies for their classrooms. Many teachers spend between $500 and $700 of their own money every school year to make sure their students have the supplies they need. This depot is a way to get teachers the necessary supplies at no cost.

The winner of the sculpture will be announced on February 9th at the Teacher of the Year Banquet. If you would like to purchase tickets after the Inventory Sale you can do so by contacting Donna Lueders at luederd@stjohns.k12.fl.us or (904) 547-7120.
