Boating Fatalities Up 24% From This Time Last Year

With just a few weeks remaining in the year, 2010 has proved to be a tragic one for boating accidents. So far, there have been 76 boating fatalities, a 24-percent increase from this time last year. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) wants Florida boaters to reverse this trend.

Jags Announce Playoffs Plan Season-ticket Holders Get First Shot

The Jaguars have announced that the team could host a postseason game in January based on the outcome of the remaining regular season games. The team may have an opportunity to host either a Wild Card or Divisional playoff game, as well as the AFC Championship game. 

Atlantic Snook Harvest Closes Dec. 15; Catch and Release Still OK

The recreational harvest of snook will close in all Atlantic coastal and inland waters, including Lake Okeechobee and the Kissimmee River, beginning on Dec. 15.  The annual winter harvest season closure of snook in these areas, which normally ends on Feb. 1, has been extended until Sept. 1, 2011, by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) due to the prolonged cold weather that impacted snook in Florida earlier this year.

Jaguars Granted 24-hour Extension for Raiders Game

The Jaguars have requested and been granted a 24-hour extension to the NFL blackout deadline, which is 1:00 p.m. today for Sunday’s home game against the Oakland Raiders. The team has until 1:00 p.m. Friday to reach the blackout threshold in order for the game to be televised locally. There are approximately 1,700 tickets remaining to reach the blackout threshold.

Jaguars Granted 24-hour Extension for Ticket Sales

Tickets are available on jaguars.com beginning at $50 per ticket.  Touchdown Club tickets are available beginning at $170 per ticket. Fans can purchase tickets by calling (904) 633-2000 or 1.877.4.JAGS.TIX (option 3) or by visiting jaguars.com.

The Jaguars main ticket office, located on the West side of EverBank Field, will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. today and Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, the game day ticket office will open at 10:00 a.m. between gates 2 and 3.

World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater going 3D

The World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater is upgrading to a new digital projection system that will create the largest 3D IMAX screen in Northeast Florida. According to IMAX officials, it will be the fifth institutional theater in the world to have this digital IMAX 3D technology.

The upgrades include a new projection system, screen and sound system. Starting with its re-launch in late January 2011, the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX Theater will offer first-run Hollywood movies and educational films in 3D.
